Dear Parents,
It is my pleasure to serve as president of the Santa Barbara Christian School Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the on-going operations of the school and ensures the mission statement is being carried out on a consistent basis. Specific responsibilities of the Board include:
- Establishing school policy
- Insuring for the financial stability of the school
- Reviewing and maintaining the school by-laws
- Actively supporting and promoting the school and the Head of School
- Hiring, encouraging and evaluating the Head of School
As a Board of Directors, we want to ensure that Santa Barbara Christian School meets the needs of its students and families through its dedication to academic excellence and the development of Christian faith, values and character. To that end, it is important that we maintain communication with the parent body at SBCS. We value parent input and encourage communication. We encourage parents to use the Biblical model presented in Matthew 18 as a guide for communication at SBCS.
This is executed as follows:
- Parents should discuss all issues with the student’s teacher
- If the matter is not resolved, an Administrator will join the parent in conference with the teacher
- If the matter is still unresolved, the parent should take the matter to the Board of Trustees by contacting the Board President
